LFW SPRING/SUMMER 2013

Designers in the spring-summer 2013 London Fashion Week were seen returning to the roots of elegance. Among the collections that I thought were real eye candies were Matthew Williamson's prints that conjured the pigment tossing Holi festival in India; Mary Katrantzou's melancholy of lost cultures; Preen's masculine-style kimono sleeve; Acne's rustic and unravelled esthetics; Jonathan Saunders' graphic boldness; Richard Nicoll's glamorous but utilitarian collection; Topshop Unique's subtle asymmetries; Michael van der Ham's hand painted jacquards; Burberry Prorsum's elaborate iterations of the classic trench and Holly Fulton's photorealistic raffia roses.
