What's not to love of having tea with your close girlfriends? Laura, Lin and I visited a patisserie all the way uptown for a calorie-filled afternoon tea. It wasn't the conventional afternoon tea served in tiers, it was more modern and French in a way. Amuse-bouche, macarons, mini tarte and gateaux...
Like any other French treats, the craft of making a good macaron takes tremendous skills. There's nothing worse than to eating an inferior macaron; perfect in the outside but dried and craker-like in the inside. The macarons in Butter Avenue are such delectable treats; tender and moist in the inside. However, nothing really beats the ones at LadureƩ or Cafe Pouchkine.
