Gong Hei Fat Choy

Being away from home means there are no peculiarities of the Chinese Lunar New Year. I didn't even bother buying new clothes this year (✌︎☻ that's a first). Depressing really, when you see everyone back home celebrating, receiving money and stuffing themselves with food. Not just food, but scrumptious food. This year, I spent the eve of the Lunar New Year eating Whole Food's brown rice sushi takeout at my friend's pad and then driving 15 minutes away with another friend for some chocolate fondue after deciding that we needed some. Afterall, chocolate produces serotonin, the so-called 'happy' chemical. Also the chocolate math, Trytophan + phenylethylalanine + theobromine = happiness, excitement and a mild 'high'. That explains the sudden burst of laughter from random topics that I don't seemed to recall. As for the very first day of the Lunar New Year, I am spending it with a hotpot dinner that comes with individual pots!
