During one of the long weekends in October, my girlfriends and I decided to make a pretty impulse trip up to Phuket for some R&R. What supposedly was to practice a three day lifestyle of soaking under the sun was replaced by aromatic massages, manicures-pedicures and walking under the rain in our raincoats. It was a different experience; not chilling by a beach at a beach resort. Thank the lord the Thais are famous for their massages and they were pretty reasonable. I guess instead of getting our tan on, this is more of a self-pampering trip, but way cheaper than the norm. Other activities were mainly indulging in local street food and chilling around a private mansion on a hilltop.

Things to eat:
Mee Ton Poe Restaurant - serving Hokkien noodles.
