 ⏐ THURSDAY, 27 AUGUST 2015 ⏐

It's all about the arts for the day. I made it a point to visit any relevant museum that's worth dropping by in every city I visit. In Melbourne, I made it to the National Gallery of Victoria, its art collection at Ian Potter Centre and the Australian Centre for Moving Image. The two formers had a good array of Australian art on display, but the latter was the one that I have taken an interest in. For the latter, there were two temporary exhibitions on site, but the one that I went for was the Orry Kelly: Dressing Hollywood exhibition. Orry Kelly is a prominent Hollywood costume designer who rose to fame in the early forties. Gifted, garrulous and unapologetic, Orry-Kelly designed gowns for illustrious films and went on to win three Oscars for An American in Paris, Les Girls and Some Like It Hot. It really is silver screen cinematography dressing at its finest.
